Delete Your Account
Last updated: 30 August 2026
You can delete your StudioLinks account at any time, directly inside the app and without contacting us. This page explains exactly how, what is deleted, what is retained, and why.
Deleting from inside the app
Deletion requires two separate confirmations so it cannot happen by accident.
The path is identical on iOS and Android. No request form and no waiting for approval.
If you cannot access the app
If you have lost access to your device or account, send a request from the email address you registered with to abracodeabraapps@gmail.com with "Delete account" in the subject line. We will process it within 30 days at most, and in practice within a few days.
Deleting some of your data without deleting your account
You do not need to delete your account in order to remove information. All of the following happen immediately, inside the app, without contacting us and without any waiting period:
| What to remove | How |
|---|---|
| Profile picture or background image | Profile → Edit profile → tap the image → Remove. The file itself is deleted from storage, not merely unlinked. |
| A message you wrote | Open the message → Delete. It is removed for all recipients. |
| Profile details — date of birth, interests, dance styles | Profile → Edit profile → clear the field and save. |
For any other request to delete specific data without deleting the account: abracodeabraapps@gmail.com.
What is permanently deleted
- Your means of signing in — email address, password and the link to your Google or Apple account. Sign-in stops working immediately and the account cannot be used again.
- Your personal profile details — full name, date of birth, interests, injuries, dance styles and display preferences.
- Photos you uploaded — profile picture and background image. The files themselves are removed from storage, not merely unlinked.
- Notification data — your device identifiers and notification preferences.
- Your activity markers — message read receipts, reactions, rehearsal views and enquiry read markers.
What is retained — and why
Three things remain with the studio, stripped of anything identifying you. Wherever your name appeared, it is replaced with "Deleted user":
| What remains | Why |
|---|---|
| An empty profile record with no personal details | Without it, every attendance record you appear in would break, and the studio's reports would show empty rows. |
| Messages and tasks you wrote inside the studio | They belong to the studio's conversation. Removing them would leave gaps in other people's threads. |
| Attendance history | An operational record of the studio, much like a class register. |
Your membership in every studio is set to suspended: you disappear from rosters, groups and every screen in the app.
How long it takes
In-app deletion is immediate — it happens the moment you give the second confirmation. There is no waiting period and no way to restore the account. Deletion is irreversible.
If something blocks deletion
If you own a studio: an empty studio (no members other than you) can be closed from that same screen, confirmed by typing the studio's name; all of the studio's content is deleted permanently. A studio with members cannot be left without a manager: you request an ownership transfer from StudioLinks on that same screen, and once ownership is transferred, deletion proceeds normally.
If you manage a child's profile on your own: first remove the child from their studios and delete the profile under "My family" (or add another parent), then delete your account.
